Paul Misraki

Paul Misraki

French Composer and Songwriter

Paul Misraki was a prolific French composer and songwriter of Armenian descent, born on January 28, 1908, in Constantinople (now Istanbul) and passed away on October 29, 1998. He is best known for his work in film music during the mid-20th century. Misraki's career spanned several decades, during which he composed music for over 150 films. One of his most notable contributions to cinema was his work on the soundtrack for the iconic 1956 film "And God Created Woman" ("Et Dieu Créa La Femme"), directed by Roger Vadim and starring Brigitte Bardot. The film's score contributed significantly to its atmosphere and helped cement Misraki's reputation as a talented film composer. His music often blended elements of jazz with traditional orchestral arrangements, reflecting the popular styles of his time. Throughout his career, Misraki worked with a variety of directors and was instrumental in shaping the sound of French cinema in the post-war era.
