Out of Focus was a German progressive rock/jazz-rock band that was active in the early 1970s. They were part of the Krautrock movement, which encompassed a variety of experimental and avant-garde music styles from Germany during that era. The band was known for their fusion of rock, jazz, and psychedelic elements, creating a distinctive sound that set them apart from their contemporaries. Out of Focus released several albums during their career, including their self-titled debut "Out of Focus" in 1971, followed by "Wake Up!" which also came out in 1971. These albums showcased the band's complex arrangements and instrumental proficiency. The group's lineup featured musicians such as Moran Neumüller (vocals, saxophone), Remigius Drechsler (guitar), Hennes Hering (keyboards), Stephan Wisheu (bass), and Klaus Spöri (drums). Despite their innovative approach to music and a dedicated following among aficionados of the genre, Out of Focus did not achieve widespread commercial success and eventually disbanded. Their work, however, continues to be appreciated by fans of Krautrock and progressive music for its originality and musicianship.
