OSI

Progressive Metal Supergroup

OSI is an American progressive rock band, formed in 2002 by guitarist Jim Matheos of Fates Warning and keyboardist Kevin Moore, formerly of Dream Theater. The band's name, Office of Strategic Influence, is a nod to a short-lived U.S. government agency. OSI's music can be described as a fusion of progressive metal and electronica with experimental elements. Their debut album, "Office of Strategic Influence," was released in 2003 and featured contributions from notable musicians such as Mike Portnoy on drums and Sean Malone on bass. They followed up with "Free" in 2006 and "Blood" in 2009, both of which continued to explore the integration of electronic elements with heavy guitar work. The band has been praised for its innovative sound and complex compositions, carving out a niche within the progressive metal community.
