Orchestr Osvobozeného Divadla, often associated with the prominent Czech composer Jaroslav Ježek, was the orchestra of the avant-garde Osvobozené Divadlo (Liberated Theatre), which was a leading theatrical movement in Prague during the interwar period. The Liberated Theatre was known for its satirical and politically charged performances that often critiqued the social and political environment of the time. Jaroslav Ježek, who was the main composer for the theatre from 1928 until his emigration in 1938, played a crucial role in shaping the musical style of the ensemble. His compositions were innovative, blending elements of jazz, classical music, and modernist trends to create a unique sound that became synonymous with the theatre's productions.
