Oliver Knussen was a renowned British composer and conductor, born on June 12, 1952, in Glasgow, Scotland, and passed away on July 8, 2018. He was recognized for his significant contributions to contemporary classical music. Knussen's career began at an early age; he stepped into the spotlight when he conducted the London Symphony Orchestra at the age of 15 in a performance of his First Symphony. His reputation as a composer was established with works such as "Where the Wild Things Are" and "Higglety Pigglety Pop!", both operas adapted from children's books by Maurice Sendak.
