Oleg Yanchenko was a renowned Soviet and Russian organist, composer, and pedagogue. Born on January 28, 1939, in Moscow, he became one of the most prominent figures in the Russian organ music scene. Yanchenko graduated from the Moscow Conservatory where he studied under the tutelage of the distinguished organist and composer Alexander Goedicke. Throughout his career, Yanchenko performed extensively both in Russia and abroad, showcasing his mastery of the organ repertoire that spanned from classical to contemporary works.
