Celebrated American operatic soprano

Martina Arroyo is an esteemed American operatic soprano, renowned for her interpretations of Verdi, Puccini, and Mozart roles. Born on February 2, 1937, in New York City, she rose to prominence in the 1960s and 1970s with a career that took her to the stages of the world's leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, and the Royal Opera House in London. Arroyo is particularly noted for her performances in Verdi operas such as "Aida," "Otello," and "Don Carlo." While she has not produced albums titled "I Vespri Siciliani" or "Un Ballo In Maschera" herself, she has performed in these operas and may be featured on recordings of live performances or studio sessions. Her extensive discography includes complete operas as well as recitals and compilations. Beyond her singing career, Martina Arroyo has also been dedicated to educating young singers through masterclasses and her foundation.
