Manassas

Manassas

70s Folk Rock Supergroup

Manassas was a rock band formed by Stephen Stills in 1971. The band was named after the town of Manassas, Virginia, and was conceived by Stills as a vehicle for his music following his stint with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY) and his subsequent solo work. Manassas brought together musicians from various backgrounds, including Chris Hillman (formerly of The Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers), who played guitar and mandolin, Al Perkins on pedal steel guitar, and several others who contributed to the rich, diverse sound that characterized the group's music.
