Lucy Dacus is an American singer-songwriter known for her indie rock and alternative music. She emerged from the Richmond, Virginia music scene and quickly gained recognition for her introspective lyrics and emotive vocal delivery. Dacus released her debut album, "No Burden," in 2016 to critical acclaim, which led to a record deal with Matador Records. Her follow-up album, "Historian," came out in 2018 and was praised for its thematic depth and musical growth, addressing topics such as loss and the passage of time with a greater complexity. In 2021, Dacus released her third studio album, "Home Video," which drew heavily on her own experiences growing up in the American South. The album further solidified her status as a poignant storyteller within the indie music scene. In addition to her solo work, Lucy Dacus is also a member of the indie supergroup boygenius, alongside fellow musicians Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker.
