Canadian rock band

Loverboy is a Canadian rock band formed in 1979 in Calgary, Alberta. The band achieved significant popularity during the early 1980s with a string of hits that included "Turn Me Loose," "Working for the Weekend," and "Lovin' Every Minute of It." The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Mike Reno, guitarist Paul Dean, keyboardist Doug Johnson, bassist Scott Smith, and drummer Matt Frenette. Their self-titled debut album, "Loverboy," was released in 1980 and quickly brought them into the spotlight. The band's follow-up album, "Get Lucky," released in 1981, solidified their place in rock history with its memorable anthems and became their best-selling album. Throughout their career, Loverboy has been recognized with several awards and has continued to tour and record new music. They remain a staple of classic rock radio and have left a lasting impact on the genre with their energetic performances and catchy tunes.
