Louis XIV is an American rock band from San Diego, California, formed in April 2003. The band's name is a reference to the French king Louis XIV. They are known for their energetic garage rock and post-punk revival sound, and they gained attention with their provocative lyrics and flamboyant frontman, Jason Hill. The band released their debut album, "The Best Little Secrets Are Kept," in 2005, which included the single "Finding Out True Love Is Blind." Their follow-up album, "Slick Dogs And Ponies," was released in 2008 and showcased a more elaborate production compared to their previous work. Despite the initial buzz and some commercial success, Louis XIV went on hiatus in 2009 but reunited for occasional performances in subsequent years.
