Canadian Baritone Opera Singer

Louis Quilico was a renowned Canadian baritone, celebrated for his powerful voice and dramatic intensity. Born on January 14, 1925, in Montreal, Quebec, he became one of Canada's most prominent opera singers. Quilico's career spanned over four decades, during which he performed at many of the world's leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York where he made his debut in 1972 as Germont in "La Traviata." He was particularly noted for his interpretations of Verdi roles and was often praised for his performances in operas such as "Rigoletto," "Falstaff," and "Macbeth." His discography includes recordings of complete operas as well as recitals and concert works. Quilico passed away on July 15, 2000, leaving behind a legacy as one of Canada's most distinguished operatic talents.
