Louis Glass

Louis Glass

Danish Romantic Composer

Louis Glass (1864–1936) was a Danish composer associated with the Late Romantic period, often regarded as one of the most significant Danish composers after Carl Nielsen. His compositional style was influenced by the German Romantic tradition, and he is particularly known for his symphonies and chamber music. Glass studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and later in Germany with the composer Franz Xaver Neruda. His career was primarily based in Denmark, where he worked as a pianist, teacher, and composer.
