Loose Fur

Loose Fur

Experimental Rock Supergroup

Loose Fur is an American alternative rock band formed in 2003 by Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche, and Jim O'Rourke, a musician and producer who has worked with a variety of artists and has been part of the experimental music scene. The trio came together through their mutual involvement in the recording of Wilco's album "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot," on which O'Rourke played a significant role as a producer. Loose Fur's self-titled debut album was released in 2003, showcasing a blend of experimental rock, alternative country, and indie rock. Their second album, "Born Again in the USA," was released in 2006 and continued to explore similar musical territories with a slightly more accessible sound. The band's work is characterized by its members' experimental approach to songwriting and recording, often featuring intricate arrangements and unconventional structures. Despite the members' busy schedules with other projects, Loose Fur has been recognized for its contributions to the indie rock scene and the collaborative chemistry between its members.
