Little Eva

60s Pop Singer Known for The Loco-Motion

Little Eva was the stage name of Eva Narcissus Boyd, an American pop singer who gained fame in the early 1960s. Born on June 29, 1943, in Belhaven, North Carolina, she is best known for her hit single "The Loco-Motion," which was written by the legendary songwriting duo Carole King and Gerry Goffin. The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1962. Little Eva's connection to Carole King was personal as well as professional; she worked as a babysitter for King and Goffin before her singing talents were discovered.
