Little Axe

Innovative Blues Fusion Project

Little Axe is the stage name for Skip McDonald, an American musician who has been influential in the blues and electronic music scenes. His career began in the 1970s as a session guitarist for Sugarhill Records, where he played on early rap classics for artists like Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. In the 1980s, he became a member of the experimental group Tackhead with bassist Doug Wimbish and drummer Keith LeBlanc, under the guidance of producer Adrian Sherwood.
