Leopold Kozeluch

Leopold Kozeluch

Classical Czech Composer and Pianist

Leopold Kozeluch was a prominent Czech composer, teacher, and music publisher of the Classical era. Born on June 26, 1747, in Velvary, Bohemia (now the Czech Republic), his full name was Jan Antonín Koželuh, but he adopted the German form of his name, Leopold Kozeluch, when he moved to Vienna. Kozeluch's career flourished in Vienna, where he succeeded Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as the court composer for Emperor Joseph II.
