He played with notable figures such as Dizzy Gillespie, with whom he toured extensively, contributing to the global appreciation of jazz music. His album "Blues Shout," released in 1960, is among his most acclaimed works and showcases his virtuosity as a soloist. Throughout his career, Wright also performed with other jazz luminaries like Art Blakey and Kenny Burrell. His contributions to the genre have been appreciated by jazz enthusiasts for their technical proficiency and emotional depth.
