Singaporean Conductor

Lan Shui is a Singaporean conductor of Chinese descent, known for his work with various orchestras around the world. He served as the Music Director of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) from 1997 to 2019, where he significantly raised the profile of the orchestra on the international stage. Under his leadership, the SSO embarked on numerous tours and made several recordings. Lan Shui has also held positions with other orchestras and has guest-conducted many leading ensembles across Europe, Asia, and the United States. His repertoire is diverse, encompassing both Western classical music and works by Asian composers.
