Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer

Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer

Baroque-era German composer and musician

Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer was a Baroque composer, born around 1656. He was one of the first German composers to incorporate the French style into his music, which was particularly influential in the development of the keyboard suite in Germany. Fischer's work served as a possible influence on later composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, especially evident in Bach's use of the chromatic fourth in his own compositions, a technique Fischer employed in his Ariadne musica, a collection of preludes and fugues.
