Jimmy Scott

Jimmy Scott

Jazz Vocalist

Jimmy Scott, also known as "Little" Jimmy Scott due to his physical stature, was an American jazz vocalist famous for his high contralto voice, which was a result of a rare genetic condition called Kallmann syndrome that prevented him from reaching puberty and stunted his growth. Born on July 17, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, Scott's career spanned over five decades. He first gained prominence in the late 1940s and early 1950s with hits such as "Everybody's Somebody's Fool," which was credited to Lionel Hampton's band.
