Ivorian Afrobeat Pioneer

Singer, guitarist, arranger from Ivory Coast, born in Treichville, Abidjan, died on the 19th of march, 1991. He modernized "Goly", a traditional Ivorian rhythm. Named after Jimi (Hendrix); developed a string pinching technic of playing guitar. Joined the Bouaké orchestra Aboliba Jazz, and reached a professional level with Comoé sisters, becoming the youngest professional guitarist of his country. Toured Africa with M'bam Jazz Orchestra before being part of Anouma Brou Felix's band. Formed Bozambo in Europe. Returned to Ivory Coast becoming the artistic director of "La Société Ivoirienne de l’Industrie du Son".
