Iyeoka Ivie Okoawo is a Nigerian-American poet, recording artist, singer, activist, educator, and TEDGlobal Fellow. Her music combines elements of soul, R&B, rock, hip hop, and jazz. Iyeoka began her career as a poet in the spoken word scene and was a member of the Boston-based poetry group "The Roxbury Poets". She transitioned into music as a way to further express her poems and messages. Her powerful voice and inspirational lyrics have garnered international acclaim.
