Melodic Hardcore Band Embraces Shoegaze Evolution

Hundredth is an American rock band from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, that formed in 2008. The band started off as a melodic hardcore group, with their debut record "When Will We Surrender" released by Mediaskare Records on March 30, 2010. The first single from that album was "Desolate", and a music video was released on YouTube on March 18, 2010. Their second album, "Let Go", was released on September 27, 2011 by Mediaskare Records. The first single from that album, "Live Today" was released on Mediaskare Record's YouTube on July 22, 2011. The band has since released two EP's, "Revolt" and "Resist" through Mediaskare and No Sleep records in 2013-2014. The group signed to Hopeless Records in 2014 and released their first full-length for the label, "Free", on June 12, 2015. In 2016, the band was rejoined by lead guitarist and original member Alex Blackwell IV after Blake Hardman departed. They released their fourth full-length "RARE" on June 16, 2017, which marked a radical change in sound, departing from their melodic hardcore sound in favor for an indie rock and shoegaze direction. The band has also since announced that they would not be performing any of their previous work live due to this.
