Henry Gross is an American singer-songwriter and musician best known for his association with the group Sha Na Na and for his hit single "Shannon," a song about the passing of Beach Boys member Carl Wilson's Irish Setter. Born on April 1, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, Gross became a founding member of Sha Na Na, performing at the Woodstock Festival in 1969. He was the youngest musician to play at the festival at the age of 18.
