Heinz Hennig (1927–2002) was a prominent German choral conductor and pedagogue, renowned for his work with the Knabenchor Hannover (Hanover Boys' Choir), which he led from 1950 until his retirement in 2001. Under his direction, the choir gained international acclaim for its performances and recordings of both sacred and secular music. Hennig was particularly noted for his interpretations of early music, including works by Heinrich Schütz and Claudio Monteverdi, as well as contemporary choral compositions. His contributions to choral music were recognized with numerous awards, and he was instrumental in advancing the reputation of German boys' choirs on the world stage. Through his meticulous training and innovative programming, Hennig left a lasting impact on the choral world.
