Heartland is a British AOR (album-oriented rock) band that was formed in 1990 by former Virginia Wolf vocalist Chris Ousey. The band's sound is characterized by melodic rock with strong harmonies and hook-laden choruses, typical of the genre during the late 80s and early 90s. Heartland released their self-titled debut album "Heartland" in 1991, which was well-received within the AOR community. They continued to produce music throughout the 90s and into the new millennium, with albums like "Communication Down" in 2002 and "Mind Your Head" in 2007, showcasing their consistent ability to craft melodic rock tunes. Over the years, Heartland has undergone several lineup changes but has maintained a presence in the AOR scene, with Chris Ousey remaining as a core member and driving force behind the band's music.
