Hans Rosbaud

Influential Austrian Conductor

Hans Rosbaud (1895–1962) was an influential Austrian conductor known for his expertise in both the classical and modern repertoires. His career was marked by a deep commitment to contemporary music, and he was one of the first conductors to champion the works of composers such as Arnold Schoenberg, Anton Webern, and Pierre Boulez. Rosbaud served as the music director of several orchestras throughout his life, including the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra.
