German Classical Pianist

Hans Richter-Haaser (1912–1980) was a renowned German pianist and music professor, particularly noted for his interpretations of Beethoven, Schumann, and Brahms. Born in Dresden, he studied at the Dresden Conservatory and later in Munich. His career was interrupted by World War II, during which he served in the German army, but he resumed performing after the war. Richter-Haaser gained international recognition for his deep musicality and technical proficiency. He performed with leading orchestras across Europe and recorded extensively. In addition to his performing career, he also held teaching positions at various institutions, including the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. His legacy includes a number of recordings that continue to be appreciated by classical music enthusiasts for their clarity and expressive power.
