Hans Pischner

Hans Pischner

German Harpsichordist and Musicologist

Hans Pischner (1914-2016) was a distinguished German harpsichordist, musicologist, and cultural administrator. He was particularly renowned for his interpretations of Johann Sebastian Bach's works. Throughout his career, Pischner served as a professor at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin and was also the director of the Berlin State Opera. His expertise in Baroque music, especially that of Bach, led him to record several albums focusing on the composer's harpsichord concertos and other keyboard works.
