Hans-Joachim Rotzsch was a distinguished German conductor and tenor, particularly known for his work with the St. Thomas Choir of Leipzig, one of the most renowned boys' choirs in the world. Born on April 25, 1929, in Leipzig, he became the choir's 16th cantor in 1972, succeeding Erhard Mauersberger and holding this prestigious position until 1991. During his tenure, Rotzsch significantly contributed to the choir's international reputation through tours and recordings.
