Hungarian Classical Pianist

György Sándor was a Hungarian pianist, renowned for his interpretations of the works of Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály, among other composers. Born on September 21, 1912, in Budapest, he was a student of Bartók at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. Sándor's career was marked by his dedication to authentic performances of Bartók's music, as he had the privilege of learning directly from the composer. He emigrated to the United States during World War II and became a naturalized citizen.
