Japanese Hardcore Punk Band

G.I.S.M. was a Japanese hardcore punk band formed in Tokyo in 1981. The group is known for its aggressive style of music, which blends elements of punk, heavy metal, and industrial music. They are considered one of the pioneers of the Japanese hardcore scene and have been influential in the development of crust punk and visual kei. The band was led by vocalist Sakevi Yokoyama, whose notorious on-stage antics and confrontational attitude contributed to G.I.S.M.'s infamous reputation. Despite their cult following, G.I.S.M. remained enigmatic and shrouded in mystery, with limited releases and sporadic live performances. They disbanded in 2002 but left a lasting legacy within the underground music community.
