Italian Baroque Composer and Conductor

Giovanni Alberto Ristori (1692–1753) was an Italian composer and conductor who is often associated with the Baroque period. He was born in Rome but spent a significant part of his career in Dresden, where he worked at the court of Augustus II the Strong, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland. Ristori held various positions, including that of Hofkapellmeister (court chapel master), and he was involved in the musical education of the royal family.
