Giorgio Koukl is a Czech-born pianist and composer who has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music, particularly through his recordings and performances of 20th-century composers. He studied at the Conservatory in Prague and later at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano under the guidance of famed Czech pianist Rudolf Firkušný. Koukl is known for his expertise in the music of Bohuslav Martinů, having discovered and premiered many of the composer's previously unknown piano works.
