G.f. Handel

G.f. Handel

Baroque-era German-British composer

George Frideric Handel was a Baroque-era composer renowned for his operas, oratorios, and concertos. Born in Halle, Germany, in 1685, he spent the bulk of his career in London, where he became a naturalized British subject. Handel's music was notable for its melodic richness and dramatic character. His most famous work is perhaps the oratorio "Messiah," which includes the well-known "Hallelujah" chorus.
