Gaechinger Cantorey

Gaechinger Cantorey

German Baroque Ensemble and Choir

Gaechinger Cantorey is a renowned German choral and orchestral ensemble that specializes in the performance of Baroque, Classical, and Romantic music, with a particular focus on the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. The ensemble was founded by Helmuth Rilling in 1954 as the Gächinger Kantorei, and it later evolved to include an orchestra, thus forming the Gaechinger Cantorey as it is known today. Under the leadership of Rilling and subsequently Hans-Christoph Rademann, who became the chief conductor in 2013, the ensemble has gained international acclaim for its historically informed performances and recordings.
