Baroque German Composer and Organist

Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow (1663–1712) was a German musician and composer of the Baroque period. He is best known for his church music, including cantatas, chorale settings, and other liturgical works. Zachow was born in Leipzig and worked primarily in Halle, where he served as the organist at the Market Church of Our Dear Lady. He is recognized for his contributions to Protestant church music and for being the teacher of one of the most famous composers of the Baroque era, George Frideric Handel.
