Fitz and The Tantrums are an American indie pop and neo-soul band that formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2008. The group was founded by lead vocalist Michael Fitzpatrick, who assembled the band as he embarked on recording a solo EP. He was soon joined by Noelle Scaggs (co-vocalist and percussionist), James King (saxophonist and flutist), Joseph Karnes (bass guitarist), Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboardist), and John Wicks (drummer). The band quickly gained a following with their energetic live shows and their debut studio album, "Pickin' Up the Pieces," released in 2010, which received critical acclaim and reached the number one spot on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
