Fine Young Cannibals

Fine Young Cannibals

British Pop/Rock Band

Fine Young Cannibals were a British band formed in 1984, whose music can be described as a blend of rock, soul, and new wave. The band consisted of lead singer Roland Gift and former members of The Beat, Andy Cox and David Steele. They rose to prominence with their self-titled debut album "Fine Young Cannibals" in 1985, which featured hits such as "Johnny Come Home" and a cover of Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds." Their success was further cemented with the release of their second album "The Raw & The Cooked" in 1989. This album included the chart-topping single "She Drives Me Crazy," which became an international success and is still widely recognized today. The band's unique sound, characterized by Gift's distinctive vocals and the group's fusion of various musical styles, made them stand out in the late 1980s music scene. Despite their success, Fine Young Cannibals disbanded in 1992, but their music continues to be celebrated for its innovation and influence on the pop and alternative genres.
