Ferdinand Havlík

Ferdinand Havlík was a Czech musician, composer, and conductor, primarily known for his work in the realm of jazz and for his association with the Semafor theatre in Prague. He was born on October 5, 1928, in Czechoslovakia and became a significant figure in the Czech music scene. Havlík led the Ferdinand Havlík Orchestra, which played a crucial role in the soundtracks of many Semafor theatre productions. The Semafor (an acronym for "SEmaphore MAsk FOr Revue") theatre was an influential cultural institution that combined elements of cabaret, revue, and theatre, and it was co-founded by Jiří Suchý and Jiří Šlitr in 1959.
