Federico Maria Sardelli

Federico Maria Sardelli

Italian Baroque Music Conductor and Multi-Instrumentalist

Federico Maria Sardelli is an Italian conductor, flautist, composer, and musicologist. He is particularly known for his expertise in the music of the Baroque period. Sardelli founded the Baroque ensemble Modo Antiquo in 1984, which has gained international recognition for its authentic performances of 17th and 18th-century music using period instruments. As a conductor and soloist with Modo Antiquo, Sardelli has made numerous recordings, including works by Vivaldi, which have been critically acclaimed. His scholarly work has also contributed to the rediscovery and performance of rare and lesser-known Baroque compositions. Sardelli's contributions to the field of early music have established him as a respected figure in the realm of historically informed performance practice.
