Eliso Virsaladze is a renowned Georgian classical pianist and teacher, celebrated for her interpretations of the works of composers such as Mozart, Schumann, and Chopin. Born on October 14, 1942, in Tbilisi, Georgia, she comes from a family with rich musical heritage. Virsaladze studied at the Moscow Conservatory under the tutelage of Heinrich Neuhaus and Yakov Zak. She gained international recognition after winning the Schumann Competition in Zwickau in 1966 and the third prize at the prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1962.
