Renowned Violinist and Chamber Music Performer

Eleonora Turovsky was a distinguished violinist and violist known for her contributions to classical music both as a performer and pedagogue. Born in the Soviet Union, she received her musical education at the Moscow Conservatory. Turovsky emigrated to Canada where she became an influential figure in the classical music scene. Alongside her husband, cellist Yuli Turovsky, she co-founded the I Musici de Montréal Chamber Orchestra in 1983, a group renowned for its exceptional string performances. Eleonora Turovsky's career was marked by her dedication to teaching as well as performing; she served as a professor at the Université de Montréal, imparting her knowledge and passion for music to generations of students. Her recordings and performances have been praised for their technical proficiency and emotional depth, contributing significantly to the world of classical music.
