Elegy

Elegy is a Dutch progressive metal band that was formed in 1986. Initially starting out as a more straightforward heavy metal act, they evolved their sound over time to incorporate elements of progressive and power metal. The band's lineup has seen numerous changes throughout its career, with guitarist Henk van der Laars being one of the consistent members. Elegy gained recognition in the metal scene with their debut album "Labyrinth of Dreams," which was released in 1992. They followed up with several more albums, including "Primal Instinct" in 1996 and "State of Mind" in 1997, showcasing their technical proficiency and complex compositions. Despite never breaking into mainstream success, Elegy has maintained a dedicated fan base and is respected within the metal community for their contributions to the genre.
