Electrelane

Electrelane

British indie rock band

Electrelane was an English indie rock band formed in Brighton in 1998. The group consisted of Verity Susman (vocals, keyboards, saxophone), Emma Gaze (drums), Mia Clarke (guitar), and Ros Murray (bass). They were known for their krautrock-inspired music and largely instrumental tracks. Their sound was characterized by repetitive rhythms, atmospheric guitar work, and the use of organ music. Electrelane released several albums throughout their career, including "The Power Out" in 2004 and "No Shouts No Calls" in 2007. They gained a reputation for their energetic live performances and for fostering a sense of community with their audience. Despite never achieving mainstream success, Electrelane enjoyed a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim within the indie music scene. The band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2007 after completing touring for "No Shouts No Calls," but they briefly reunited for a series of live shows in 2011.
