Eddie Hazel

Eddie Hazel

P-Funk Guitar Virtuoso

Eddie Hazel was a pioneering guitarist, best known for his work with the influential funk band Parliament-Funkadelic. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 10, 1950, Hazel's distinctive lead guitar style was a key element in the development of the P-Funk sound. He joined George Clinton's group in the late 1960s and quickly became a standout member with his virtuosic playing. Hazel's most famous contribution is the epic guitar solo on Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain," from the album of the same name released in 1971, which has been hailed as one of the greatest guitar solos of all time.
