Doug Gillard

American Indie Rock Musician and Guitarist

Doug Gillard currently records and performs as a solo artist, and with the groups Nada Surf, Bambi Kino, and Death Of Samantha. Gillard was previously a member of Guided By Voices, Cobra Verde, Gem, and My Dad Is Dead. He is also credited below as a member of several semi-fictitious bands (e.g., Approval Of Mice, Bug-Eyed Mums, Champion Hairpuller) as a result of his appearances on two of the Suitcases box sets by Guided By Voices, which are compilations of outtakes and demos in which Pollard created a new band name for nearly every track. Gillard has recorded two albums with Robert Pollard as Lifeguards.
