Deniece Williams is an American singer, songwriter, and producer known for her distinctive soprano voice and her contributions to the soul, R&B, gospel, and pop music genres. She began her career in the 1970s as a backup vocalist for Stevie Wonder as part of his "Wonderlove" backing group. Williams then launched a successful solo career with her debut album "This Is Niecy" in 1976, which included the hit single "Free." Throughout her career, she has released several albums and is perhaps best known for the 1984 hit single "Let's Hear It for the Boy," which was featured on the soundtrack of the film "Footloose" and became a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
