Dark Avenger

Dark Avenger was a Brazilian heavy metal band formed in 1993 by lead vocalist Mario Linhares. The band's music is characterized by a blend of traditional heavy metal and power metal elements, with lyrical themes often centered around mythology, fantasy, and historical tales. Throughout their career, Dark Avenger released several albums and underwent various lineup changes while maintaining a presence in the South American metal scene. They gained a following for their melodic approach to metal and Linhares' powerful vocal style. Unfortunately, the band faced a tragic loss when Mario Linhares passed away in December 2017, which cast uncertainty over the future of the group. Despite not being widely known internationally, Dark Avenger holds a respected place within the Brazilian metal community and has contributed to the genre with their passionate performances and storytelling through music.
